Wire Wheels on a stationary buffing machine

Post  TMASCO on Wed Oct 06, 2010 9:00 pm

Question - Why are you not suppose to use wire wheels on stationary buffing motors? I would like to use a wire wheel because of the length of the shafts which will allow me to maneuver the object easily around the wire wheel.

Thanks

probably because there is no guard over the wheel. those wire pieces will frequently come flying out. other than that, cant think of any other reason why you cant, as long as you are wearing safety glasses or a shield.
